What 24/7 assistance means

Takecare Medical Group accepts repatriation and patient transport enquiries through WhatsApp at +66 95 073 5550, with assistance available 24/7. You may be contacting us during the night in Thailand or from another country where the working day is different. Begin with the type of assistance and your immediate question so the conversation has a clear starting point.

Availability to discuss an enquiry is separate from the availability of a vehicle, aircraft, flight or receiving provider. Authorities, hospitals, carriers and other organizations may need to complete their own steps. Ask which part can be progressed now and which part depends on a later confirmation rather than assuming an enquiry guarantees immediate movement.

Decide what needs action first

When several concerns arrive together, separate immediate safety from transport planning and family administration. If someone is acutely unwell in Thailand, call 1669 for emergency medical assistance or alert the treating facility. A WhatsApp coordination enquiry should not delay local emergency care. Explain the situation to the medical professionals responsible for the person before focusing on a journey home.

If the person has died, establish who currently has responsibility for the deceased and which authority or facility is involved. You do not have to settle every funeral preference in the first conversation. It is useful to identify the urgent uncertainty, such as the current location or who the family should speak to next.

Prepare a brief update for the next conversation

Write a short summary containing the assistance category, present location, intended destination if known and your relationship to the case. Add what has already been arranged and what has only been discussed. For example, contacting a receiving hospital is different from obtaining its acceptance, just as requesting a quotation is different from instructing work.

List the two or three questions that matter most now. You might need to understand an outstanding document, establish whether an insurer is coordinating the case or clarify who has authority to approve the next step. A focused summary helps avoid repeating a long history while leaving the actual decision unclear. Mark unknown details honestly.

If the enquiry concerns a patient

A patient’s condition and care needs shape any discussion about movement. Identify the treating facility and whether the aim is a return home, a transfer for treatment or another agreed care arrangement. Share the treating team’s advice accurately, and ask how the appropriate clinical information should reach the professionals reviewing transport suitability.

Do not buy tickets or arrange discharge solely because a general transport option appears on a website. Airline acceptance, the proposed medical support and receiving arrangements may require confirmation. If circumstances change while arrangements are being discussed, inform the relevant contact. A previous assessment or provisional itinerary may need review when the facts behind it change.

If the enquiry follows a death

Families may be deciding between return of the body, local arrangements and travel with ashes. Explain any known wishes, but say when a decision remains open. The relevant guide can help frame questions about documentation, preparation, international movement and the receiving funeral director without assuming the same process applies to every nationality.

Release and official documents must be distinguished from family preferences about timing. Ask which steps have been completed and which organization is responsible for the next one. Keep a ceremony date provisional until the necessary arrangements are confirmed. The purpose of an early conversation is to establish a workable sequence, not to promise that all requirements can be completed overnight.

Coordinate across time zones

Choose a main family contact where possible and identify who can make decisions if that person is unavailable. Professionals can provide a handover contact for a change of shift. Explain the time zone of any deadline and use a full date when discussing a proposed departure or arrival; an overnight international journey can create avoidable confusion about which day is meant.

Ask how confirmed updates will be communicated and distinguish an update from a request for approval. A message that reports progress does not necessarily require an instruction to proceed. Keep important decisions in a clear written record so relatives, payers and receiving providers are working from the same version of the plan.

Use waiting time productively

Some stages may remain pending while an authority, clinician, carrier or receiving organization considers the case. During that time, identify missing contact details, clarify the destination and collect questions from the family. Ask which documents are likely to be needed, but do not send sensitive material until the recipient and sharing method have been established.

For insurance cases, check who is handling the enquiry and which expenses require authorization before commitment. For self-funded discussions, decide who will review the written proposal and approve changes. These preparations can make the next step clearer without assuming that paperwork, funding or clinical approval can be bypassed because the family is under time pressure.

Know what a confirmed plan should contain

Before treating arrangements as confirmed, ask for the requested scope, the start and end points, relevant provider responsibilities and the approvals still outstanding. Clarify the quotation’s inclusions, exclusions and validity, together with the process for changes. For an international journey, include the destination handover rather than concentrating only on the departure from Thailand.

An estimated schedule should be described as an estimate. Ask what information could change it and who will communicate a revision. The next useful milestone might be receipt of a document, an assessment outcome or confirmation from a receiving provider. Understanding that milestone is often more helpful than asking for an unsupported completion promise.

Questions you may have

Can I contact you without all the paperwork?

Yes. Tell us what is known, what is missing and which question needs attention. Documents and authorizations must still be established before any arrangements that depend on them proceed. An early enquiry can help identify those dependencies without requiring you to guess the complete document list.

Should several relatives send separate instructions?

It is usually clearer to identify one contact for collecting questions and sharing updates. Make the authority to approve arrangements explicit, particularly if it differs from the person sending messages. If wishes or instructions conflict, explain that directly rather than allowing different versions to circulate as though each is final.
